New thoughts

As a college student, having children is not usually in my train of thoughts. However, this week when I was watching Grey's Anatomy with my roommates there was an episode that really got me thinking. In this episode, there was a little boy who was very sick. He needed a new liver transplant and Seattle Grace hospital did not usually have children as their patients and on their transplant list, so this young boy presented a big problem for them. Luckily, at the very last minute, a donor came through and the boy was alright. What really got me thinking was throughout the whole episode the mother was just horrified and so sad. She always put on a good face in front of her son, but it was easy to tell she was not confident in the hospital.

This episode made me think what I would do if I had a seriously ill child, and I was glad when I did some research to find such great hospitals around Milwaukee and in Wisconsin. It made me feel great that there was not only so many amazing hospitals around Milwaukee and the surrounding areas, but that there was actually a hospital that is dedicated and nationally known to only treat children with almost any sort of disease or sickness that they might have. I know that I can raise children in Milwaukee with confidence that they will be taken care of with any problem that may arise. I also babysit often so it is comforting to know that if anything serious or even little happened to the children I was watching, I would know exactly where to take them and they would be in great hands.
